MENTORING FUTURE MEN

What is Royal Rangers?

The Royal Rangers program is an activity-based, small group church ministry for boys and young men in grades K-12. Our mission is to evangelize, equip and empower the next generation of Christlike men and lifelong servant leaders. We provide Christlike character formation and servant leadership development for boys and young men in a highly relational and fun environment.

EVANGELIZE

We will reach the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ by bringing together a community of men and boys who will connect with others through a variety of activities guys commonly enjoy.

EQUIP

We will train and resource our adult and junior leaders to effectively apply the Royal Rangers program within their areas of responsibility.

EMPOWER

We will provide opportunities for men and boys to improve their churches and communities through the practice of servant leadership.

Welcome to our Tennessee Royal Rangers Website

The mission of Royal Rangers is to evangelize, equip, and empower the next generation of Christ-followers and lifelong servant leaders.  We accomplish this mission by training adult leaders who then empower young leaders to assume leadership roles, thus making Royal Rangers a student-led, adult-facilitated mentoring ministry.  Students are given ample opportunity to practice leadership skills in a safe environment and in a manner consistent with their age and maturity as they develop vital social skills.

Royal Rangers is affordable, flexible, and practical so that every family and church can participate regardless of location, size, or resources.  Royal Rangers is a compliment to any church, attracting families from the community who want the best for their children.

We use creative methods to encourage each Ranger to serve God and our fellow man.  Personal and spiritual growth is a fun, hands-on experience among friends as we explore biblical principles in our daily routines and weekly activities.

Activities of mutual interest, such as camping, sports, trades, technology, arts, etc. give our trained mentors a platform around which to draw students and create meaningful relationships and opportunities to teach skills that enrich their lives mentally and physically.

Tennessee district RR events and projects are funded mostly through Friends of Rangers (FOR), a non-profit organization that was formed out of a commitment that no boy should miss out on the benefits of Royal Rangers because of a lack of finances.  Your contribution enables us to continue to Mentor Future Men in Tennessee.  Thank you for partnering with us to reach the next generation of Christ-like men and servant leaders.

Below is a link to send a one-time gift or to set up a monthly giving plan to Friends of Rangers.  If you have any trouble with online giving and/or have questions about it, please contact Steve Iles (stepheniles5858@gmail.com) for more information.

Note: Please process your donation as a “Family & Friends” transaction….(NOT as a standard business/services transaction).

Yearly Summer event

What is Tennessee Pow Wow?

TN Royal Rangers has a big statewide camp once a year for either three days or six days. We have Spirit-filled services each day as well as devotions each morning at formation. Boys have opportunities to experience Jesus with their friends, participate in team and individual competitions, work on crafts, and even run/walk in a 5K if they want. We are committed to keeping the costs down to make it affordable for everyone who wants to join us at Pow Wow. All TN Royal Rangers are welcome to attend. We often have pastors stop by to visit. Sometimes we have boys and commanders join us from nearby states when we have room. We have mostly tent camping but we also have a few cabins on a first come basis for a small fee, and we have a nice showerhouse. We have security personnel who continually patrol the area, with our head of security often riding a horse.

We rub shoulders and grow together at TN Pow Wow. We discuss missions and often award a missions scholarship to one boy at camp. Sometimes we just sit around a fire together.

We owe the great success of our Pow Wow to the many men and boys who volunteer to run the various games, and events. Competitions include Skeet Shooting, .22 Rifle, BB Gun, Archery, Watermelon Eating, Tug-of-War, Soccer 5 on 5, Best Outpost Standard, Best Gateway, Best Campsite, and the 5K. Frontier craftsmen teach Blacksmithing, Woodworking, Metalwork, Beadwork, Leathercraft, and more. Some of the other activities are Ga Ga Ball, Laser Tag, Paintball, and Archery Tag.

All of this happens at Camp Rain, 626 Bennett Cemetery Road, Decherd, TN 37324.
